Alex P. Schmid is Professor of Terrorism and Political Violence at the University of St. Andrews. He is the author of numerous books and articles on terrorism, including The Routledge Handbook of Terrorism Research (2011) and The Routledge Handbook of Extremism and Terrorism (2021).

A.J. Jongman is Professor of Security Studies at Leiden University. He is the author of numerous books and articles on security, including The Handbook of Security Studies (2017) and The Routledge Handbook of Terrorism and Counterterrorism (2021).
