When my younger brother, Daniel, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, my world was turned upside down. I was only seven years old at the time, and I didn't understand what autism was or how it would affect our lives.

As Daniel grew older, I began to realize that he was different from other kids. He didn't speak very much, and when he did, it was often in a monotone voice. He had difficulty making eye contact, and he was very sensitive to loud noises and bright lights.

At first, I was embarrassed by Daniel's behavior. I didn't want my friends to know that I had an autistic brother. But as I got older, I began to understand that Daniel's autism was not something to be ashamed of. It was simply a part of who he was.

I started to learn more about autism, and I realized that there were many things that I could do to help Daniel. I learned how to communicate with him in ways that he could understand, and I helped him to develop his social skills.

As we grew up together, Daniel and I became best friends. We shared a love of music, movies, and video games. We also shared a sense of humor, and we could always make each other laugh.

Being Daniel's sister has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I have learned so much from him about patience, acceptance, and love. He has taught me that it's okay to be different, and that everyone has something to offer the world.

In this book, I share our story in the hopes that it will help others to understand autism and the unique bond between siblings. I want to show the world that autism is not a disability, but a gift.
