Edited by Kofi Agawu, Jacqueline Cogdell DjeDje, and Derek Attridge

In Representing African Music: Postcolonial Notes, Queries, Positions, scholars examine the ways in which African music has been represented and interpreted in the postcolonial era. This book challenges existing narratives and offers new perspectives on the music of Africa.

The essays in this volume explore a wide range of topics, including the role of African music in the construction of national identity, the impact of globalization on African music, and the ways in which African music has been used to challenge colonial and postcolonial power structures.
